Perched on a leafy branch,
Legs coiling around petals,
Resting wings made of crafted lace,
Young and as fresh as the honeysuckle air.

Rebounding through the rays of sun
Wind kissing each poised wing in flight.
Forever in reach, searching for light.
Despite the speed, there be elegance and grace,
Giving no disgrace to this delicate creature.

Charming in it's animated dance,
As it tickles the flowers pink
When the chromatic sky looms ahead.

Laughing in it's silent song, spellbound to colour.
Careful and wise, however prone to surprise,
At a net or an enclosed cage.

I give you beauty while I waltz
In my blue and green freedom,
Deserved not to fall to the ground
For I am a beautiful sight.

I neither bite your skin nor burden your eyes.
Don't try to make me your awarded prize.

Roaming free, what am I?
A sweet butterfly, don't harm me,
I'm nothing but fluttering by...

I thought it were a pixie, too, at first.

I prefer the last three stanzas, where it got more personal.
